During the past three decades, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of persons with VIAD and D/B. This specific group of people constitutes a distinct, diverse and heterogeneous one, with unique set of needs, mainly because the combination and severity of the disabilities in each individual varies within the general population of persons with visual impairments. These needs have to be evaluated and confronted under the network of well-organised early intervention services and programs in conjunction with adjustment of funding and investment in training for skills development, in particular through partnerships. It is expected that the data which will be stemmed from the ErISFaVIA implementation phase, will shed light in sectors of effective and realistic early intervention programs and services.
The main expected results of the overall project are the following:

• A report on literature review giving emphasis on the family-centered models of early intervention programs relevant to the field of VIAD or D/B and a Needs Assessment Study of families which have children with VIAD or D/B.
• Joint training material for the training of all participating professionals which will be based on literature review and on the extended experience of the partners who will conduct the training events (i. e. Mali Dom and Blindeninstitut München).
• A guide with the best practices regarding methods of early intervention programs for supporting families and young children with VIAD or D/B. This Guide will be designed and integrated during the implementation phase of the ErISFaVIA project.
• Dissemination through project’s website, social media, events, journals and papers, and a policy recommendations and guidelines report which will include recommendations and guidelines for policy makers and stakeholders.

It is expected that all the above will have an impact at personal and social level of all involving partners and professionals.
