The association of parents and friends of visually impaired children with additional disabilities, such as autism, mental retardation, neurological disorders, motor or sensory discrepancies, called “SYZOI” is a non-government, non-profit organization, which aims to achieve, among others:

  • The education and vocational training of visually impaired children with additional disabilities
  • The psychological and social support of these children as well as their families
  • The fulfilment of the needs of these children in the best possible way
  • The promotion of scientific research on both the prevention and dealing with these problems
  • The protection and consolidation of the constitutional rights of these children
  • The awareness of a wider part of our society on this multiple disability

SYZOI offer services regarding early intervention and day care. The early intervention programs include many services such as assessment, support and family supervision. The day care center offers specialized educational and therapeutic intervention programs for people with a visual impairment and additional disabilities.
The Early Intervention Program includes:

  • Support of motion, speech and perception, taking into account the condition of each child’s vision
  • Evaluation and support of their residual vision Support of the procedure of their playing capacity
  • Mobility and independence instruction
  • Fostering of the perception of the surroundings
  • Cooperation with already existing educational institutions attended by the children (such as kindergartens, nursery schools, primary schools) and also with doctors and therapists

Day Care Centre
The Day Care Center definitively has been designed and organized specially for people who together with the impairment (partial or total blindness) have and additional disabilities (intellectual impairment, autism, cerebral paralysis, neurometabolic syndromes).
